Bio - Eana Apple Agopian
Eana is an artist, printmaker, educator and project coordinator based in Southwest Michigan. She studied art education and fine art photography at Western Michigan University’s Gwen Frostic School of Art, followed by a seven year stint organizing art, music and food related events in and around Kalamazoo, Michigan’s vibrant cultural scene. In addition to showing her own work as member of the Exquisite Corpse Artist Collective and Gallery, she curated and hosted over 20 exhibitions featuring local and outsider artists. In May of 2016 she graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with an MFA in Printmaking. Her thesis exhibition, Occultation, earned the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art's Fresh Pick Award for 2016. Her follow-up exhibition, Interlace, was exhibited in 2017. Her collage piece, Meiosis, earned the Ninth Wave Studio Award for Ingenuity in Mixed or Intermedia at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts annual Regional Exhibition for 2017. She continues to pursue a combined interest in photography, printmaking, textiles and collage.
